Originally founded in 1998 by a group of friends who include Santiago Achaval, Manuel Ferrer and world renowned wine maker Roberto Cipresso. Achaval Ferrer is a team of friends committed to the development of outstanding wines and as a result they have achieved worldwide acclaim. The four vineyards that they own are located in Mendoza, Argentina. They are positioned at varying elevations between 700 – 1,100 meters above sea level (Mirador 700m, Bella Vista 980m, Altamira 1,050m and Diamante 1,100m). These variations in elevation create unique conditions as far as the soil, climate and irrigation are concerned. Through their unique single vineyards with different soils and microclimates, Achaval Ferrer is able to achieve extraordinary expressions of their Malbec.
The international reputation of Achaval Ferrer led to its purchase in 2011 by SPI Group – a global leader in wine and spirits including: Stolichnaya (Stoli) vodka. Year after year, the wines of Achaval Ferrer are consistently recognized by the likes of Robert Parker and Wine Spectator as the highest rated Argentinian wines in history – no other wines from Mendoza have achieved similar success.
